I finally found a fix (that works!) for Pocket Guitar for 1.1.4 firmware.
- In the Installer, add the following source: “http://podmap.net/apps”
- Go to Install -> Toys. There will be 2 Pocket Guitar packages. Doesn’t matter which one you choose. Install.
- Once it installs, you’ll see a red circle on the Update button, so tap that and update it.
The only problem I found with this method is that even after you update, the update notification doesn’t go away, but the app does work.
nope… doesnt work…. i am looking all over for a way to get it to work, but nothing so far
Just uninstalled it and reinstalled on my iPhone again and it still works fine.
Are you able to install other apps? The only reason I can think of that it wouldn’t work is if you ran out of space and didn’t run BossTool, but that’s about it. What problem are you having exactly?
i do believe that it does matter what one you go to in the installer, the 1st one has to be downloaded
I thought so too, but I tried doing it both ways and it worked. I don’t know, maybe the jailbreaking method has something to do with it? I used ziPhone.
Thanks very much it worked like a charm. but may i add one note. the two different apps are different version numbers. one is .2 the other is .2-1 i installed the .2 since the .2-1 was the one that wasnt working all along. thanks again.

Alright people, seriously, it doesn’t matter which one you install (from Toys) as long as you UPDATE it! I tried it several times and it does work. I wouldn’t make shit up.

@Deemo: What version did you install initially? Did you update? What version does it say you have now? Does it show a new update in the installer? Do you have enough space? Did you run BossTool on your apps? Can’t really help you if you don’t tell me these things.
is there a way i can add apps without wifi.
On the iPhone you can do it through edge or 3g. You used to be able to add apps to the Applications folder too (you can SSH into it or use something like http://digidna.net/diskaid/), but I think now you have to jump through a lot more hoops to get them installed properly. I could be wrong.
sorry but does it work on ipod touch and i have firmware 2.2.1 will it work still?? i have done everything in sourses but there is only one application in toys and it says code error.
@Dean this post is kinda outdated. There are dozens of guitar applications for iphone/ipod touch at the app store though. Might wanna see if there’s anything similar on the Installer or Cydia that works with the current firmware.

This post is over a year old. And I doubt you still have 1.1.4 firmware on your i/phone/pod. There are other similar apps you can get off App Store or Cydia.
