UPDATE: If you don’t want to wait for an AIR app for Basecamp, AlertThingie just added this functionality to their new app. It’s not nearly as powerful as the widget above, but if you want a twitter-like feed of Basecamp activities, it’ll do the job.

1. In the Installer, add the following source: “http://podmap.net/apps”
2. Go to Install -> Toys. There will be 2 Pocket Guitar packages. Doesn’t matter which one you choose. Install.
3. Once it installs, you’ll see a red circle on the Update button, so tap that and update it.

The only problem I found with this method is that even after you update, the update notification doesn’t go away, but the app does work.

I’ve been looking for an easy way to do this for a while and this is exactly what I wanted. The only drawback is that you have to add an extra div inside the wrapper, but you could probably make use of it if you hate empty divs.

I recently upgraded my 8 gig iPhone to the new 16 gig one, which unfortunately already came with the infamous 1.1.3 firmware. I spent quite some time looking for a guide on how to downgrade and this one by EffeXTC on ModMyiFone.com is by far THE best guide out there:

Yes, I used it and yes it worked. Before you start, make sure you have WiFi access. You’ll need it to jailbreak 1.1.1.

Some applications haven’t been modified to work on 1.1.3 yet, so you will have trouble with OpenSSH, Customize and SummerBoard. Oh, and Edge. Yea! No worries though. You can fix them.

Fixes for Jailbroken 1.1.3

Fix Edge:
Go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

Fix OpenSSH:
Install Unix Subsystem and reinstall it. You might need to reinstall it a couple of times. You will NOT see the OpenSSH icon on your springboard but it will be running in the background. The username is root, and the password is alpine.

Fix SummerBoard:
Add the following source to your Sources: http://sleepers.net/~iphone/repobeta.xml

Then, under Tweaks install Smb Themes Fix.

Fix MobileChat and Apollo
Go to Installer -> Tweaks (1.1.3) -> IM Chat 1.1.3 Fix

Fix Customize:
I haven’t tried this, but here’s a guide on how to get Customize to work.

Believe it or not, there is a website dedicated to “books that make you dumb” (or smart). Virgil Griffith compiled a diagram of 100 most popular books read by college students (based on their Facebook statistics, that’s kind of a bias in itself) and placed them in relation to that college’s SAT and ACT scores.

Before you look at the diagram in any detail, guess where The Holy Bible placed. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita was at the top.

The list is a bit biased though. Based on most universities’ Facebook “Favorite Music” stats most people listen to very mellow music: Jack Johnson, Radiohead and Coldplay always being in the top 5 or so. Are college kids Really that mellow? Or would the better question be are these the people who fill out their “Favorite blank” questions? Metallica, Muse and Rammstein would be at the top of my list but I didn’t fill it out. Just a thought.

Check out PocketGuitar on Google Code. They have quite a few juicy features in store for the next version. Can’t wait! The bass is too quiet, but it’s not a huge concern since they already have it on the roadmap for the next version.

However, if you favor the republicans, you may want to take a look at the following list.

Here are the candidates who think that “content providers who pay more should have priority over other Internet traffic.” This means that if you can’t afford to pay for people to be able to access your site in a reasonable amount of time (that’s if they can access it at all!!) you are out of luck if any of these guys gets elected:
